WarBirds / B17G-01 5/6/2005

This is B17-G #44-83575 built by Douglas Aircraft in April 1945. This ship never saw combat but was part of the post-war Air-Sea Rescue Squadron and later part of the Military Air Transport Service (MATS.) IN 1952 it was instrumented and used as a target in three different nuclear bomb tests.  Restoration began in 1963 after a 13-year "cooling off" period.
