Hoisting the anchor in Ketchikan. The deck officer is operating the anchor hoist and the female deckhand is using a fire hose (visible on the deck at left) to hose off mud from the anchor chain so it doesn't make the chain locker below deck all messy. The hoist itself made an interesting mechanical sound; it's driven by a hydraulic motor which in turn is driven by a large hydraulic pump below decks (and quite close to our cabin.)
