This is one of several lengthy hallways on pone level of the underground mall beneath Kyoto train station. The mall has literally hundreds of shops, most of which seem to be selling women's clothing. The malls are built 2 levels deep beneath street level, and the subways are on levels 3 -- 5 below the malls. I cannot imagine how they were able to build all this stuff under the streets and buildings.
