Another example of reforestation following the disastrous fire of 1988. The Yellowstone 1988 fire changed the entire approach to fire fighting in the National Parks. Once people saw how quickly and successfully natural regrowth occurs they decided to no longer try to fight fires, but rather contain them. The old Smoky the Bear signs saying "Only you can prevent forest fires" are almost all gone now.
