Following initial restoration by the Aircraft Specialties Co. this ship flew for 20 years as a water and borate bomber fighting forest fires. The Collings Foundation bought her in 1986 and contracted Tom Reilly Vintage Aircraft Co. to restore her to original wartime configuration.
