Petersburg was one of the highlights of the trip because we took a jet boat ride across the bay to the Leconte Glacier where I took most of these photos. Petersburg began as a fishing town because the nearby glacier provided free ice for packing locally caught fish in preparation for shipping it to the lower 48 states.
